Dear Prospective Families & Community Partners:
Thank you for your interest in the Banjul American International School. As a small, diverse international school on The Gambia's beautiful smiling coast, BAIS offers a rigorous, US standards-based curriculum in a global context. We are fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and we are proud to be a member of the Association of International Schools of Africa and to be supported by the US State Department's Office of Overseas Schools.
Most importantly, we are a warm and nurturing learning community. BAIS′s vibrant, welcoming learning environment honors the individuality of every student. BAIS is owned and governed by its parents -- some of whom attended BAIS as children. Our small class sizes allow our outstanding team of caring, creative, highly qualified teachers to challenge and support every student to become confident, curious, compassionate, critical-thinking life-long learners.
2024-25 will mark the 40th year at BAIS! For nearly four decades, our alumni have attested that no matter where they moved on to from BAIS, they were given the academic and critical thinking skills, confidence and creativity here in Banjul which were the foundations for their later success in othr school and universities accross the globe. Our high school program is 3 years young but has already produced 3 graduates accepted to the universities of their choice in the USA, including the prestigious Wellesley College!
Our staff are incredibly proud to be part of this enthusiastic, intellectually engaged, compassionate community of learners. Our students, faculty and parents collaborate supportively to make BAIS an enthusiastic, intellectually engaged, compassionate community of learners. I encourage you to learn more about BAIS by exploring this website and reaching out to me with questions or to schedule a conversation or visit.
We look forward to welcoming you to the BAIS family! Call or WhatsApp us to set up a tour.
